Accurate Science in “The Expanse”

“The Expanse” is among my favorite sci-fi shows, and probably my favorite that is currently on going. One thing I really love about “The Expanse” is how accurate they try to keep the science. It’s not perfect, of course–there is still a lot of rule-bending–but “The Expanse” does not outright break the rules like many other sci-fi shows, and many times the inaccuracies simply cannot be avoided due to the nature of the medium (being a TV show, as it is). The books, at least, have the luxury of being even more scientifically accurate.

Kyle, of the “Because Science” YouTube channel, talks a bit about the science of “The Expanse” and also tours the set and interviews some of the special effects people, as well as the actors. Check it out!
